Donors Choose

Englewood Public School District is thrilled to announce the winner of Dr. Hazelton's DonorsChoose Classroom Teacher Contest!

🌟 Congratulations to Ms. Alicia Kays, Visual Arts Educator at Dwight Morrow High School, for her award-winning proposal that earned a $500 Donors Choose credit to bring her vision to life.

Ms. Kays’ innovative project uses printmaking as a powerful tool for advocacy, empowering students to express their voices through art while exploring critical issues such as deforestation, ocean pollution, gender identity, and climate change. Her classroom is a space where creativity meets purpose, inspiring students to think critically, act boldly, and become changemakers.

Dr. Marnie Hazelton praised Ms. Kays for her creativity, leadership, and dedication to student voice, sharing:

“By centering the project around issues your students care deeply about, you are not only nurturing artistic expression but also cultivating future changemakers.”

👏 Congratulations again to Ms. Kays for her vision and leadership, and thank you to all educators who continue to use creativity and advocacy to inspire students every day!
